Ama Lou Releases Visuals to "Same Old Ways"

Today, Ama Lou releases the heart-warming visuals to “Same Old Ways”, taken off her “AT LEAST WE HAVE THIS”. Directed by Ama alongside her sister and long-time collaborator, Mahalia John who’s credit as her DoP, Lou appears in the visuals which depict her back in a [private] school environment and is an upbeat offering from the north Londoner who shows her versatility by both singing and rapping over Maestro The Baker’s production.

Making a triumphant return to the scene, “AT LEAST WE HAVE THIS” has served as a reintroduction to the singer after a 2-year hiatus; and coming back with a bang, Ama offers us a 4 part deluxe world to ponder upon before the release of her debut album “I Came Home Late” coming later in 2022.

Speaking on the EP, Ama Lou mentioned: “I have been away for damn near two years making my album with a good friend. When we were coming to the end of the project, I started pivoting to work on this EP. I wanted to get that creative rush back and thought this album deserved a big introduction so I put together the idea for this EP. The main aim to make it a mini preface project but also because I knew it would be fun!”

With the intent to skilfully demonstrate her updated sound, Ama is setting a preferential playing field for her audience to pick and choose from. Each song being different from another, each one taking influence from its own genre. Staying within the title theme of her upcoming debut album “I Came Home Late” we follow Ama as she explores the sounds more reminiscent of her roots. Sounds that take influence from her heritage/ childhood and from the time and place (London) in which she grew up - her home.
