Rina Sawayama

After a lot of controversy surrounding Rina Sawayama eligibility, leading to a successful campaign by the young singer resulting in a historic Brit Award ruling regarding the nationality of nominees. Rina has made waves in past years with catchy pop infusion and music videos that call back to her Japanese heritage and pop inspirations she was an unquestionable nominee. The British Japanese artist stands rightly nominated alongside two other young people of colour who have been making waves in the past year:

Pa Salieu

Firstly The alternative Coventry rapper Pa Salieu whose single Frontline took the U.K. rap scene by storm with parallels to a young JHus being drawn, but who with his debut EP "Send Them to Coventry" showed he is own artist and no parallels are needed to be drawn to validate his ability and success. Off the back of being chosen as BBC's Sound of 2021, he is in good contention to win.

Grif

Lastly, we have Grif the youngest of the three whose catchy songs and huge fanbase with 3Million+ monthly Spotify streams saw her just lose out on the BBC Sound of 2021 award. With songs with Disney and Live Performance with Tate Tanks, she has come along way from singing in her church choir and I think we can saw whoever wins we can't complain about the selection.

Who do you think should have been nominated and who is going to win this prestigious award?
