MUSIC FRIDAY - Young T & Bugsy, Shunaji, Suspect, V9

Shunaji - Dirty Girls

Directed, styled and produced by Shunaji and set in somewhere in the Nebula. The track Juxtapiston takes a much more grounded approach in terms of its lyrics and subject theme. Dirty Girls chooses to explore sexual and gender based morality from slut-shamming, to other social constructs that limit the female experience. The use of Italian in the first verse, and the tune’s old school vibe, shows you that Shunaji is not following any genre or musical rules on this. Put together by a talented team of musicians, the track is a composition of trombones, pianos and drums. The sound transcends genres, and that’s what Shunaji is known for.

Young T & Bugsey - Don't Rush ft. DaBaby

Following their record-breaking entry into Billboard 100, Nottingham based rappers Young T and Bugsy team up with US rising star Dababy, in a shock collaboration release unannounced to many in the AM this Friday. While just a lyric video for now, the collaboration adds a new energy to the track that is sure to push it further up those billboard charts.

V9 x Unknown T - Drip Drip

It’s an East London link up, revving up for an explosive start to the second half of the year. V9 returns today with the new track Drip Drip featuring drill’s Star Boy and Unknown T, produced by the renowned engineer Ghosty. V9 offers a catchy hook, while effortlessly linking together Unknown T’s verses. The Deadpool mask and Marvel themed intro are a profound statement; these rappers aren’t here to play nice. Unknown T and V9 are clearly both in their bag and the UK drill scene is still going strong even in lockdown.

Suspect - No Gimmicks

This seems to be a week of returns. Following up from the highly anticipated comeback track “Reload”, Suspect is back to drop off yet another banger. “No Gimmicks” calls on Suspect’s go to producer, Flyo as the two come together to make an energy-ridden heater. Suspect is back with his signature flow and an almost Dr Dre like beat. Accompanied by an unusual companion in the No Gimmicks Music video. The music videos creativity and playfulness captivates your attention, but the tracks truthful and fun lyrics keep you listening to the end. It’s good to see Suspect switch up his flow and the timing from what we are typically used to. We are keeping our eye on Suspect espi
